We strive to achieve excellence in education and research that are relevant to the demand of industries and community. Types of SoME-industry relation programmes are:
Industrial Training
Industrial training is a compulsory activity for our undergraduate students. The training exposes students to the commercial-driven industrial environement in order to gain practical experience and hands-on skills from the industry.
Industry - Academia Programme
This programme is introduced as a feeder system in grooming potential workforce. The programme involves selection of students, training and attitude development. SoME has established several collaborations; Embedded Dream (Infineon) and Elite (Intel).
Final Year Projects
Industrial collaboration can be conducted through final year projects. Final year students will select the projects given by the industries (usually continuing from industrial training projects) and complete the project within one year under joint supervision.
Consultation Through Postgraduate Attachment
Postgraduate research students are attached to the industry for practical case studies and data collection. Supervisory team will consists of industrial representative (or immediate supervisor) and SoME researcher.
Consultation Through Short Courses
SoME provides consultation to the industry by offering industry-relevant short courses; sharing knowledge for aiding the development of professional skills. Courses can be conducted in the industry, UniMAP, Anjung-UniMAP KL and Anjung-UniMAP Kulim.

Industrial Attachment for SoME Staff
Industrial attachment programme for SoME staff is aimed to provide practical experience and enhancing knowledge of industrial related technologies in a specific duration of time. Output from the attachment will be translated into improved syllabus and overall teaching process.
Research Collaboration
SoME and industry collaborate in a pre-identified research and development area. This may involve sharing of expertise and infrastructure to achieve common goals.
