"Akademia Bersama Masyarakat"

Hari Kebangsaan (National day), refers to the day when the Federation of Malaya's independence from the British Empire was officially declared. At exactly 09:30 on 31 August 1957, the declaration was read by the first Chief Minister of Malaya, Tunku Abdul Rahman at the Merdeka Stadium in the presence of thousands of people including Malay Rulers, members of the federal government, and foreign dignitaries. To commemorate the event, Hari Merdeka was declared a national holiday in Malaysia and observed annually on 31 August.

Happy Independence Day Malaysia! Sayangi Malaysiaku!!

Welcome to the PhD students from the Department of Physics, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), Surabaya, Indonesia to our SoME under the Inbound Mobility program for a month. This program is a collaboration between ITS and SoME under Dr. Muhammad Mahyiddin Ramli in the field of reduced graphene oxide (rGO).

Again, the use a Malay proverb that basically means "What is once lost, will always be replaced with a new one".

In conjunction with the celebration of SoME's Jamuan Aidilfitri, we celebrate the departure of two staff. Acknowledgements and thanks to Pn Azimah bt Aziz and Ir. Nurulazmi b Abdul Rahman who has contributed much during his career at SoME. Pn. Azimah was one of the long-serving staff under SoME, while Ir. Nurulazmi helps a lot in the EAC's accreditation process. Hopefully, the built-in bond of friendship will last forever, and may Pn. Azimah and Ir. Nurulazmi will always be victorious and splendid in the new workplace.
