Thank you!!

Dr Mohd Nazrin Md Isa, senior lecturer at SoME, UniMAP, was invited to present at Digital Outlook Series 3 on Nov. 20, 2019, organized by MCMC and MTSFB at the Auditorium, MCMC Tower 1, Cyberjaya. The title of the presentation was “Digital Paddy Cultivation - Is It Possible?” which is related to an e-paddy research project he had previously undertaken.

A big congratulations and thanks to Dr Mohd Nazrin!

From Oct. 27 to Nov. 10, 2019, Dr Mohd Fairus bin Ahmad, senior lecturer of SoME, has conducted research visits to the Laboratory for Chemistry and Life Science, Institute of Innovative Research (IIR), Tokyo Institute of Technology, Kanagawa, Japan, which is one of the best universities in Japan and the world. This visit is part of his research collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Dr Keiji in a field of semiconductor-photocatalyst, and is fully sponsored by The Network Joint Research Center for Materials and Devices, Japan.

In early May 2019, UniMAP (through the SoME under the initiative of Ir. Dr. Norshamsuri bin Ali @ Hasim and assistance from the CIA UniMAP) signed an MoU with Nicolaus Copernicus University Torun, Poland for a five-year collaboration of teaching and research activities.

Thankfully one of the doctoral students (PhD) at UniMAP who is also a member of the SoME, Pn. Nor Roshidah bint Yusof, under the supervision of Ir. Dr. Norshamsuri bin Ali @ Hasim, has been housed at the Single Photon Applications Laboratory (SPA), Nicolaus Copernicus University Torun for three-month student exchange and photon-related research program from June 17, 2019 - September 16, 2019 (student/staff mobility overseas).

The program under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr Piotr Kolenderski has been fully funded by the Polish International Agency for Academic Exchange (International scholarship exchange of PhD candidate and academic staff - PROM program) and Nicolaus Copernicus University Torun (Torun Astrophysics / Physics Summer Program - TAPS 2019).

Some of the successful activities are:

1. Perform experiments using the facilities available at SPA

2. Present a research paper at OPTO Seminar 2019 (http://opto.edu.pl/)

3. Attend lectures.

Hopefully, this activity will benefit everyone involved, and this collaboration will continue to be inshaAllah.
